Rail Cuff, BrassDeveloped as part of an experimental casting trial. Fabricated in house from sheet metal components. Because of its I beam cross section this cuff is very strong for its minimal weight. The curved inner element is waterjet cut here in Maine. The metal surface is left raw after soldering, making for variation in patina from piece to piece. Lightly polished for comfort. More on that casting trial as I make progress.. Good finish, poor hardware.
Set screws are poor quality and are sometimes powdercoated on the exposed threads. Leads to striped hex sockets and inability to tighten properly.
Durable finish as evidenced by no visible damage after throwing parts across the shop in frustration.
Ended up running self tapping screws thru parts to complete assembly.
