Each light is able to be pointed independently, allowing for forward facing and side facing configurations simultaneously, giving you a line of sight in dark conditions. I have used the green bottle so far! As soon as you bite into one, it starts to foam up. I let it foam for a few minutes, and then I brush my teeth.
